Homework and Home Reading

  • A home learning task is set each Friday to be completed for the following Wednesday. Children will recieve a homework star for each piece of homework they complete and they can win prizes when they have collected 3 or more.
  • Once your child has learnt several sounds, they will start to come home with a home reading 'Blending Book'. Please practise reading regularly, sign the diary to say when your child has read, and ensure the book and reading diary are brought to school every day
  • Your child will also being home a green Speed Sounds Book - this is to keep at home and use regularly to practise recognising the sounds and writing the letters correctly.
  • We have an open library session every Tuesday after school where you can come and choose a library book to take home. Library books are to be signed out and returned the following Tuesday.
