Maths

Power Maths

Harwood Park follow the Power Maths scheme from Reception to Year 6 and follow Development Matters in Nursery and Reception.

Through interactive lessons, practical activities and daily fluency, Power Maths makes Mastery achievable for all pupils. It provides small, cumulative steps to build a solid foundation of deep mathematical understanding.

This mastery whole-class approach empowers every child to succeed and progress together. Children develop their growth mindset and build their confidence to use mathematical vocabulary which then deepens their own knowledge. The use of Power Maths characters reflects on the children's own growth mindset during Maths lessons including determination, curiosity and flexibility to drive their learning forward. These essential mathematical skills and reasoning will equip children with real-life situations and ensure they see themselves as mathematics both today for the rest of their future.
