RHE

At Harwood Park we follow the SCARF curriculum for RHE (Relationships and Health Education.

SCARF provides a comprehensive spiral curriculum for PSHE education, including mental health and wellbeing across Nursery, Reception, Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2.  By using SCARF across all age groups we will ensure progression in knowledge, attitudes and values, and skills – including the key skills of Social and emotional learning, known to improve outcomes for children.

The curriculum begins with Personal, Social and Emotional Development in EYFS, in which staff support children's developing social and emotional skills through building strong relationships with children, supportive  and thoughtful adult-child interactions and circle time discussions. Children take part in more in depth discussions in Key Stage 1 & 2 alongside activities to help ensure they know more, remember more.
