Rochdale Family Service Directory Are you a parent or carer of a disabled child from birth to 19 years of age, living in the Borough of Rochdale? The parents forum are a group of parents of children with a wide range of disablilities and additional needs who are working together with service providers in the local authority to make positive changes for our children, families and community. They speak with as many parents as possible to find out what is working and what changes families need to improve the service they receive. They meet regularly with the service providers in the Rochdale Borough to discuss the views we have gathered. They then work together to find solutions so that our children and young people can get the services and support they need to live ordinary lives. They offer support for each other and aim to be accessible to all. They offer information and training for parents. They provide inclusion and disablilty awareness training to professionals. They are respected by our service providers and work in partnership to influence the way local services are delivered. They meet once a month, have regular newsletters and attend information and open days. They want to hear from as many families as possible so that all our children and young people have a voice.
