Class 14 (Y6)

Welcome to Class 14

Teacher: Miss Bell

Teaching Assistants: Mrs Penrose &

            Mrs Charnley

It is wonderful to welcome children back to school and we hope you find all the information that you need here. Remember to keep an eye on our blog page where there will be weekly opportunities to see photos of our lessons and children's achievements.

Timetable: School will start at 8.40am for all children. We will be lining up in the dining hall so punctuality is important. We begin each day with reading for pleasure. We then have Maths and English lessons in the morning and a range of curriculum subjects in the afternoon.

Reading: Children are expected to read as often as they can at home (a minimum of three times a week). This might not always be their reading book but make sure reading diaries are signed and returned on Thursdays so reads can be counted for the Reading Challenge Awards!

If children read three times in a week they will be entered into the weekly Frappe Friday draw where they can have a snack and milkshake of their choice.

PE:  PE lessons will take place weekly on Monday and Wednesday each week. Children must bring their PE kit in a drawstring bag. This will be left at school for the half term. The PE kit should include: a plain white T-shirt, a pair of blue shorts, a plain black tracksuit and black or white trainers.

Homework: Each week a page will be set in the children's Maths and SPAG homework book on Fridays. These should be completed and retuned to school by the following Thursday. The children will also be given a list of spellings to learn.

High attendance and excellent engagement with home-reading is a target for all and will be monitored throughout the year.
