Class 5 (Y3/4)

Attendance

Every week we aim to achieve 95% attendance for the class. Please make sure that your child is in school every day.

In Class 5 your teachers are:

Miss Kennett (Class Teacher), Ms Zar (SEND support/ Teaching Assistant) Miss Lewis (SEND Support/ Teaching Assistant) and Mrs Greenhalgh (SEND support/ Teaching Assistant)

Reading

Children are expected to read daily at home. Children will be issued with reading books along with a reading record and these must be brought in to school every day. Please ensure that when your child reads at home that you sign their reading record to let their teacher know. In class 5, if your child reads 4 or more times per week, their name will be entered into a raffle to win a prize every Friday!

Homework

This year, we ask that children complete at least 4 reads each week, practise their weekly spellings and practise their times tables on TT Rockstars using their logins. Logins will be sent out through a letter and will be stuck into your child's reading record.

Spellings

Spelling tests are every Friday and new spellings will be given out each week. On the Friday before the last week of each term, we do not give out spellings to take home. This is because we do a longer spelling test in the final week on all spellings that have been taught so far.

PE

Children need to have their PE kits for Wednesdays and Fridays.

Swimming (for Year 3 children only)

Swimming will be on Wednesdays after February half term. The start date is yet to be confirmed. Please remember to bring your swimming shorts/costume and a towel in a bag when swimming begins. Children will arrive back at school for 3.30pm at the latest. Children will wear their uniform to go swimming and will change into their swimming costume in the changing rooms.
