Class 14 (Y6)

Welcome to Class 14

Class Assembly

Thank you to all parents and family members who were able to attend the class assembly this term. We hope you enjoyed hearing more about what your children have been learning in Year 6 so far.

Our weekly target is 97% attendance. So far this half term we have achieved this just once from five weeks. Our aim must be to ensure everyone is in school and learning: hopefully we can all achieve more attendance certificates after half-term!

Each week children receive two pieces of homework; arithmetic and comprehension. These must be handed back to the teacher by Wednesday every week. New tasks will be given out every Friday.

In addition, we complete two spelling tests per week. It is therefore very important children have as much opportunity as possible to practice their spellings with an adult at home if possible. Tests are ordinarily taken on a Tuesday and Friday.

Finally, home-reading is essential and is logged every day by Mr Stamp. The more your child reads and is exposed to a wide-range of texts the better they will understand future books and learning. Mr Stamp loves reading and it is his personal aim to ensure your child grows to love reading also.
